How to Clean a Blender
My Mom taught me this method a long time ago, and I’ve been doing it ever since.
- Rinse out as much of the solids as possible under normal tap water, then empty.
- Put a bit of liquid dish soap into the blender.
- Fill the blender about halfway, but no more than three-quarters full, with hot water.
- Place the blender on the base.
- Turn it on.
You will end up with a warm frothy dish soap mix which cleans the blender as it goes. No need to risk cutting yourself on the blades, and it just takes a minute or two. When it’s done spinning around, turn it off, remove the lid, then pour the liquid out over the upturned lid. All clean!
